SACRAMENTO, CA – California Republican Party Chairman Tom Del Beccaro today issued the following statement regarding the recent court ruling on Proposition 25:
"Voters did not get what they were promised with Prop 25 - a balanced budget or no pay for legislators. Those who have always had power – Democrats – held up the budget last year, then passed an "unbalanced" budget and demanded their pay. With today's ruling, Democrats in the legislature will now be the sole judge of whether they passed a balanced budget. This proverbial wolf in charge of the hen house ruling is one more strike against the California budget and our economy."
